here is a way from xoops (news module 1.63) to XE1.2.4 (xe_document)
there are several steps:
1,You need to setup a XE site, and add a news module(as xoops news module), categories, so you can get a 'module_srl' and 'category_srl' to match your old xoops data.2,download the php file here (xoops2xe.php)
3,you need to edit your own setting on the file such as DB name and password, category_srl etc (marked as //custom setting start)
4,upload the file to your site. and run it. (PLS BACKUP everything before you do this!)
5,list_order and update_order on XE is new to xoops, we need to run sql in mysql datebase:
UPDATE xe_documents SET xe_documents.list_order=xe_documents.document_srl-2*xe_documents.document_srl-1, update_order=xe_documents.document_srl-2*xe_documents.document_srl-1
DONE.
normally you can have data on XE now.

Congratulations, so you succeeded! :)
I sent out flyers to the other Korean developers too, so they can greet this great news.
Also, would you mind if we post this tip on other migration tips pages for future users to share?

^_^,mission complete!
Currently, there aren't any tools available for directly migrating XOOPS to XE.
For right no you'll have to build something up on your own to extract data from XOOPS and put it in to XE format..
But I'll have a word out to other developers though, as they might take interest and perhaps start a project on it.
